jhP Lights Up at Plaza Glow

Three, Two, One

Lights were glowing, the band was playing and spirits were high as Westboro Mart celebrated the holiday season November 8 at the first annual Plaza Glow. Area businesses extended their hours and opened their doors for the onlookers as they waited enthusiastically for the holiday season to officially begin.

Westboro Mart, developed in 1926 by Tinkham Veale, with Spanish architecture modeled after Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza has become in the last 10 years the creative epicenter for fine and decorative arts in Topeka.

Never ones to shy away from a celebration, jhP staff and family members kicked off the lighting festivities by enjoying a delectable meal catered by Brickyard Barn Inn. Entertainment at the Mart was provided by the Topeka High School Band and children of all ages were astounded by the captivating performance by magician, David Thornburg.

With the fantastic turnout and the great media coverage, no one can claim that the organizers of the Plaza Glow aren’t the brightest bulbs on the string.  In fact, most would say they are glowing….
