All Aboard!!!!! In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, jhP team members competed in the first annual Great Topeka Bed Race, sponsored by Housing & Credit Counseling Inc.

jhP determined early in the planning stages to do what we do best – be creative! Our theme was the Orangeland Express – to highlight our brand and Topeka’s history of being a railroad city. With the entire team on board we quickly created a train out of our bed with a fully functioning smoke stack that blew orange smoke.

A good time was had by all as our locomotive rolled along the parade route in downtown Topeka.

Why dreaded Monday, you ask? Because on Mondays I intern at jhP!

Every Monday is different, and each has been fascinating. I’m mostly interested in market research and account service, and in the scant eight Mondays I’ve been here I’ve had the chance to work on several different projects. Plus I’ve joined in brainstorming sessions, which are more fun than should be allowed during work hours. Even my forays into fabulous filing have been fascinating; who knew how much behind-the-scenes paperwork goes into every ad?

Being an intern at jhP is a wonderful first venture into the office world, let alone marketing. Up ‘til now my work experience has been in the nursing field, so I was nervous about working in such a different environment. But jhP is fantastic! Every person here is as pleasant and fun to work with as I could hope. The place buzzes with creative energy.

I highly recommend jhP for self-starters considering internships. Non-traditional students like me, take heart. Even if you can’t afford to work for free five days a week, call jhP. They might be willing to work something out. I’m glad they worked with me so Mondays could become my new favorite day!
